CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS TERMS AND CONDITIONS

INFORMATION AND ELIGIBILITY

Open to all photographers.

The "Flat File Feature" is shifting online to the new "Portfolio Platform" to provide the focus to a more streamlined online presence while we are currently practicing social distancing and not being physically gathering in the gallery. The Portfolio Platform provides the opportunity for photographers to showcase a portfolio of your photographic work prominently online at the Midwest Center for Photography website. The portfolios will be available for patrons of the gallery to go online and view, learn about you and your work through your images and biography and artist statement, and have the opportunity to purchase your photographs. Each portfolio will consist of 12 - 20 images.

Selection will be based upon the thematic series of photographic work submitted by each artist rather than solely on individual images. A brief artist statement and bio are required.

Selected artists will have their work featured for a period of six months online.

SUBMISSION FORMAT

Select the number of images and click "add to cart". Check out at the PayPal form. Please note that there is not an upload form, and you should simply Email your photographs to info@mwcponline.org in jpeg format: 72 dpi, no larger than 3000 x 3000 pixels. Name each file with your name and the corresponding number from the entry information below, for example: smith_jane_1.jpg. List the information requested below in a Microsoft Word document. When sending your email, attach your photographs and info, and email to info@mwcponline.org. Provide the following information for each image submitted:

NOTIFICATION OF SELECTED PHOTOGRAPHERS

Selected photographers will be posted online at www.mwcponline.com. Our group email will be sent with a list of names of selected photographers. Photographers who sumbitted must check this information for the list of names. Instructions for the flat file feature will be sent to selected photographers via email. Please reply to the email to confirm participation in the feature.

FLAT FILE FEATURE FORMAT

All photographs should be exhibition quality prints, printed cleanly in a consistent size format, preferrably with a considered amount of white space surrounding the images, accompanied with titles, artist statement, and bio information for the flat file feature. MWCP offers archival inkjet printing services, pricing found in our services section of the website.

SHIPPING OF WORK

Exhibiting artists are expected to cover the round trip shipping costs for their work. Please ship the work in reusable packaging, please package the work in sturdy containers with plenty of cushion material. Include in your packaging the return shipping labels for the package, for example: Fed Ex or UPS pre-printed return shipping label, please do not send U.S. postage stamps for return.

ASSOCIATED FEES AND INFORMATION

Not all photographers who enter the call for entries will be selected for the fearure, and photographers who are selected may not have all individual images chosen to be included in the feature. There is a 40% gallery commission for work sold. MWCP reserves the right to reproduce images for promotional and publication purposes, if necessary. Any work that differs significantly from the entry, arrives at the gallery after the deadline, or is sub-standard quality will be disqualified from the feature. MWCP cannot be responsible for damage or loss during shipping. Photographers must provide the return shipment labels for their work, any work that is left at the gallery for a period of one year without shpping arrangements made will be donated to the MWCP Benefit Auction. Email addresses will be added to our email list. Entry fees are non-refundable, no exceptions. By submitting work to the call for submissions you agree to all terms and conditions set forth in this submission page.
